Spanish households pay an average of 400 euros more in electricity than they did a decade ago, according to a study by Facua-Consumidores en Acción, which shows power bills up 76% from 2005 to 2015.
With the rates valid from August 2014 to July 2015, the average user signed up for the Voluntary Price for the Small Consumer rate (PVPC) paid 929.15 euros in power bills, which comes out to 77.43 euros per month.
According to Facua’s analysis of more than 50,000 bills for inhabited homes, the average user in Spain consumes 366 kilowatt hours (kWh) each month and has a contracted power capacity of 4.4 kilowatts (kW).
