NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PRESTIGE EVENT IN ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN
Barcelona, 27 May 2022. The 13th PORCELANOSA Architecture, Interior Design and Property Development Awards ceremony was held on 26 May at the Four Seasons Hotel in Madrid. This special gala, hosted by the journalist Susanna Griso, had over 300 guests, including renowned architects, designers and figures from the world of business and finance.
With a long history, the Porcelanosa Awards have become one of the most renowned events in Spain and abroad, and they are back in 2022 after a two-year break.
The purpose of the competition is to collaborate with professionals working in architecture, interior design and property development and to improve the national and international image of the sector and boost its growth. As well as fostering creativity and innovation.
Alting deputy director general Carolina Marcos attended the event and highlighted that “The awards ceremony was a total success. It is important to value the great work being done in each of the categories, by professionals and students of architecture and interior design. Once again this year, the awards recognized truly innovative projects that stand out for their quality and sustainability.”
A panel of world-renowned judges
This time, the judges awarding the 13th Architecture, Interior Design and Property Development Awards were Adolfo Suárez (architect), Alejandra Pombo (interior designer), Antonio Maciá (architect) and Rhea Valfor (associate principal at Hickok Cole – Washington).
The panel of experts judged the projects submitted in two categories: Design of the Future and Design of the Year.
- María Ying Fernández Arjona for PR-132 and Ángela Acevedo del Álamo for The Sea won the Design of the Future category, for professional interior designers, architects or property developers and interior design or architecture students. This award went to the most realistic proposals for a presidential hotel suite using materials from the Group’s seven firms.
- And Odiseo won the Design of the Year category, which recognizes the architectural and building quality of projects carried out with PORCELANOSA Group materials completed between January 2019 and February 2022.
