LOS JERÓNIMOS, MADRID
5.548 m2

An exclusive listed neo-classical building of great historical value, fully protected, located in the central Los Jerónimos neighborhood of Madrid, near Retiro Park and Paseo del Prado.

The building was designed in 1905 as the corporate headquarters for Sociedad Azucarera Española in one of the most emblematic areas of Madrid.

It is located on a chamfered corner, giving it two separate entrances: a highly emblematic main entrance at 5 Ruiz de Alarcón Street and a secondary entrance on Juan de Mena Street.

Aware of its historical value, as a listed building, elements like the wood joinery, stairs and rooftop have been restored, working closely with the Spanish Office for the Protection of Historical Heritage.

General features

Ruiz de Alarcón, 5

A building designed from the beginning to house the most distinguished companies, located in one of the most sought after areas of Madrid, near some of the city’s top hotels, museums and parks.

Initially intended as an office building, after identifying a strategic market opportunity, the Alting Project Management Department will turn this property into a luxury hotel in response to growing demand for exclusive high-end tourism in the capital.

This process will create 61 rooms, a fine dining restaurant, bar, spa, pool, events room and exclusive rooftop with a pool and privileged views of downtown Madrid.

The project will take approximately 10 months and is expected to be finished by July 2025.

Architecture

An exquisite renovation

5 Ruiz de Alarcón Street combines the talent of one of the most emblematic architectsof the early 20th century with one of estudios de arquitectura today’s most widely known architecture firms . An exquisite continuation of architectural excellence.

  • Enrique Mª Repullés y Vargas (1845- 1922) was the official architect of the royal family and of the Archdioceses of Toledo. In the Jerónimos neighborhood alone, he left us emblematic works like the Madrid Stock Exchange and the restored San Jerónimo el Real church, not to mention the building at Ruiz de Alarcón 5.
  • RCCyP, the studio in charge of the project, is led by Luís Galiano and stands out for its projects in unique buildings, preserving the original architecture. Some of these projects include Edificio España, Palacio de la Música at Gran Vía 35, and the properties at Gran Vía 60, Gran Vía 32 and Puerta del Sol 9.
