ECB to maintain interest rates at all-time low

Mario Draghi announced that the ECB will begin to buy up asset-backed securities in the second half of October and continue to do so for at least two years as a way to ward off the fear of deflation.

With these non-conventional measures, the ECB has pledged to add as much as one trillion euros to its balance sheet. Meanwhile, interest rates will remain at the all-time low of 0.05%.
