5-star GL hotel at Ruiz de Alarcón 5
Ruiz de Alarcón 5 is an exclusive neoclassical building of great historical value, fully protected, located in the heart of Madrid’s Los Jerónimos neighborhood, next to Retiro Park and Paseo del Prado.
Conceived in 1905 as the corporate headquarters of the Sociedad General Azucarera de España, the property was designed by Enrique María Repullés y Vargas, the architect of the Royal House and author of the Madrid Stock Exchange Palace. Its style combines Madrid eclecticism, neoclassical, and neo-Mudejar, reflecting the architectural richness of the early 20th century.
In 2025, Alting Real Estate Group and Mercer Hotels joined forces to transform this building into a 5-star Gran Luxe hotel, reinforcing Madrid’s positioning as an international luxury tourism hub. The project, which involves the change of use from office space to a hotel, is led by Alting’s Promotions area together with the RCCyP architecture studio, headed by Luis Galiano, and interior designer Andreu Carulla.
