Average home prices in Spain rise 1% in 2015

The price of housing rose in 2015 for the first time in eight years. Catalonia and Madrid led the boost in housing prices in Spain, up 5.3% and 3.3%, respective. On the other hand, home prices were down for the year in Navarra (-8.5%), Murcia (-4.3%) and Aragón (-3.6%).

The Catalan provinces of Girona (10.7%), Barcelona (5.8%) and Lleida (5.3%) fuelled the growth of real estate prices, along with Albacete (4.5%) and Madrid (3.3%).

In terms of large cities, housing prices rose 8.7% in Barcelona, 3.8% in Madrid and 0.6% in Valencia. However, Zaragoza and Seville were the capitals that saw the biggest drop in prices, down 4% and 3%, respectively.
