Home mortgages signed up 20% in January According to data released Thursday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), mortgages increased by 31% compared to December. The average mortgage amount was €105,792, 0.8% more than the previous month and 4.3% higher than January 2014.
Meanwhile, the total capital lent for home purchases reached €2.212 billion, a monthly increase of 32% and a 25.5% increase compared to the previous year.
