They include social distancing, new ways of interacting, new product consumption habits and changes in how we define our <strong>priorities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But have home search requirements changed since the lockdown? The answer is yes, there has been a change in <strong>clients\u2019 consumption habits and needs<\/strong> when buying or renting their primary residence.<\/p>\n<h3>Home search trends<\/h3>\n<p>After 2 months of at-home lockdown, the perception of the basic qualities our home should have has shifted.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the most common features requested today are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A place to <strong>spend time outdoors<\/strong>: gardens, terraces and balconies, along with private areas with a garden and swimming pool.<\/li>\n<li>Better orientation: plenty of <strong>natural light<\/strong>, good <strong>ventilation<\/strong> and <strong>outer<\/strong> walls facing the street.<\/li>\n<li>The importance of <strong>homes\u2019 size and design<\/strong>: comfortable, versatile spaces.<\/li>\n<li>Kitchens with more room for <strong>storage.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Efficient, energy-saving<\/strong> household appliances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Plus, the <strong>uptick in remote working<\/strong> has prompted the need to have an <strong>independent space<\/strong> set up as an office, either an <strong>extra bedroom<\/strong> that can be used as a study or office, or a <strong>larger living<\/strong> room where a workspace can be set up yet the entire family can use it as well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5722 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Vivienda-teletrabajo-2.jpg\" alt=\"vivienda-teletrabajo\" width=\"1024\" height=\"509\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the <strong>demand for homes in outlying areas<\/strong> has also increased. Right now people are more willing to move outside the urban centers, since the homes there:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>are larger;<\/li>\n<li>are more likely to have large terraces, gardens and swimming pools;<\/li>\n<li>have less pollution and more green spaces nearby;<\/li>\n<li>and cost less.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Without a doubt, the lockdown has spotlighted the fact that many homes lack multipurpose spaces, sufficient light, views and terraces or balconies, and we are thus witnessing a shift in home search trends.
