Home sales up 10.7% in July for fifth straight month of gains
MADRID (EUROPA PRESS) Home sales were up 10.7% in July compared to the same month in 2013, with a total of 28,583 operations, thanks to a boost in the second-hand market, as the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE) announced this Thursday.
The year-on-year rise in July is the fifth in a row after the gains seen in March, April, May, and June, when home sales rose 22%, 5%, 5.4% and 8.8%, respectively. This put an end to ten straight months of year-on-year decline. The data published by the INE concerns sales recorded with property registers through public deeds executed in the aforementioned months. Looking only at month-on-month data (June to July), home sales rose 9.6% after falling 7.3% the previous month.
